The Wolfstannen are two silver firs located at the edge of their natural habitat in the Odenwald Forest. They owe their good growth to the favorable water and nutrient supply. The name probably recalls the "Wolfsklinge" (Wolf's Blade), where, according to legend, the last wolves were sighted – and in the nearby "Wolfsacker" (Wolf's Field), a wolf is said to have once stolen a toddler from a stroller.
