Together with the Wieland townhouse at Olgastraße 129 in Ulm, also designed by the Munich architect and painter Richard Riemerschmid, the Lindenhof is the most important Art Nouveau building in the region. However, while most other Art Nouveau architects around 1900 prioritized the building's intrinsic value, Riemerschmid focused on its function and thus on the needs of its inhabitants. As a result, the villa's exterior appears with a simplicity that has essentially transcended the Art Nouveau style. In particular, the functional integration of the kitchen wing and storage rooms with the main building prioritizes efficient workflows over a harmonious, cohesive exterior. Similarly, the addition of the bowling alley primarily serves the purpose of convenient access.

Elaborately decorated wooden gate, a gift to Blaustein from the partner community of Cernat (Romania). Such gates were a symbol of special social status, especially in the 17th and 18th centuries. They were placed in front of the house. Here, too, the larger the gate, the higher the status of the owner. The origins of this tradition can probably be traced back to monasteries and courts of the Middle Ages.
