The Constance church was dedicated to the Virgin Mary (1416: ecclesia beate Marie virginis). Parts of the church belonged to Hirsau Abbey from 1100, and the entire church from 1399. Hirsau Abbey also commissioned the late medieval church, which was built in the mid-15th century on the site of an earlier structure. The church was consecrated in 1478.
