The Neckarzimmern Lock is a significant facility on the Neckar River in Baden-Württemberg. It was completed in 1935 as part of the canalization of the Neckar River 1 2. The lock consists of two chambers and has a lifting height of 5.60 meters 1 2. The facility also includes a hydroelectric power plant that operates year-round. The weir bridge spanning the lock is part of the Neckar Valley Cycle Path and is used by both cyclists and pedestrians.

The Schützenstadl is a cozy Alpine-style inn known for its Bavarian specialties and beautiful forest beer garden. Here, you can enjoy traditional dishes such as roast pork, crispy knuckle of pork, or Kaiserschmarrn, prepared with fresh, regional ingredients and lots of love.

The Old Hospital in Mosbach is an impressive historic building dating back to the second half of the 15th century. Originally serving as accommodation for the needy, the poor, and the elderly, it is now a masterpiece of carpentry. The half-timbered construction was largely preserved during the restoration in 1978/79, preserving the building's charm. Today, the Old Hospital houses the Mosbach City Museum, which offers fascinating insights into the city's and regional history. Exhibition topics include a significant collection of faience, the history of the Jews in Mosbach, the crafts and guild system, and the history of printing. A special highlight is the Kickelhain House, which vividly presents Odenwald living culture.

With its well-kept green spaces, flowerbeds, and shady spots, it invites you to linger. There are walking paths, picnic areas, and even a small pond – ideal for families, friends, or simply enjoying nature.

Here the Neckarsteig goes steeply up the mountain from Mosbach. It's a bit alpine but you'll be rewarded with a wonderful view of Mosbach.
