There's a pleasant riverside rest spot just next to the bridge on the east bank, overlooking a pool in the river between the bridge and a small weir.

The original building, where the bar is located, was built over 400 years ago by Abraham Lincoln's 6-greats grandad!

Nice climb up through the trees from Cromer towards Felbrigg Hall.

When I visited on a sunny April day, the river here was full of a couple of families paddleboarding and swimming, looked like a nice wild swimming spot. There's a good clearing by the bank to set up on or take a rest too.

Good, friendly place to stay.

Taking the Drayton Lane cycle path that runs parallel to New Drayton Lane gives you an alternative to navigating the 3-lane roundabout at the Broadland Northway junction.

Organised cycle rides set off from The Parson Woodforde in Weston Longville every week. The pubs owners have teamed up with Wensum Valley Cycling to offer organised rides on Tuesday mornings, Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings. Whether you are a club rider, a complete beginner or enthusiast, you are welcome to go along and ride. The club welcomes visitors and you can ride with them 3 times before a membership is required. The homemade cakes are worth a visit in themselves.

Apart from the mill house, the only part of the old site left is the former drying house, which has been converted into a garage.

St Edmund’s church in Taverham has an unusual outer appearance with its thatched chancel which looks slightly higher than the nave. The tower here has 11th century origins, with a lower, west slit window having a flint frame. Higher up on the south side is a stone-framed window, which indicates later 11th century work.
