In 1972, the city of Oberndorf purchased the complex, which is now used as the town hall. - The restored monastery church now serves as a cultural and event center. The Barbara Bridge is a charming, covered wooden bridge that leads over the Triebwerk Canal to the historic Ramstein Mill.

The ruins of Irslingen Castle date back to the 12th century and were once the ancestral seat of the Dukes of Urslingen, an important noble family during the Hohenstaufen period. Today, parts of the circular wall with loopholes and tower bases are still preserved.

A richly structured valley with rock formations, steppe heaths, wet meadows, lean grasslands and the impressive Schlichemklamm gorge, which has cut deep into the shell limestone.

A quiet nature trail leads directly along the stream—at times narrow and enchanting, at times open and sunny. The rippling of the Schlichem River accompanies every step, making this section particularly idyllic.

A mown grass path leads gently through meadows 🌾 and accompanied by birdsong 🐦 directly to the Schlichemklamm 🌿💧 – an idyllic start to the nature hike.
