Picturesque old town, invites you to linger

A beautiful old town 🥰

The market square was probably created from the remains of a castle that was moved to Hohenhewen before the town was founded. The Martinsbrunnen is from 1984 and is meant to represent a lot of things (see information board on site). The former Adler inn is probably from the Austrian rule. At least twice everything here burned down and was rebuilt. In the 20th century the entire old town was renovated for around 20 years. The result is impressive. And it is not a "museum", people live here, there are shops and places to stop for a bite to eat. I saw no hectic activity here, but a cozy bustle on a Tuesday morning. History, culture, art and enjoyment await you here.

There are many beautiful details to discover in this church, right next to the old city wall. You should really take some time to visit.
