Of course, the famous Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756–1791) deserves a monument not only in his birthplace of Salzburg, but also in other places, honoring the still highly esteemed composer with dignified monuments, in this case depicting father and son from the musical family. One of the most popular works from W.A. Mozart's extensive musical output is undoubtedly the serenade "Eine kleine Nachtmusik" (Köchel catalogue no. 525). This is the starting point of the section of the Way of St. James from Purkersdorf to Göttweig, a beautiful part of Austria in any case!

Unfortunately, no water came out of mine.

The Sängerbrunnen fountain was erected by the Purkersdorf Beautification Society in 1875 to commemorate a concert by the Vienna Men's Choir. A plaque at the rear of the fountain commemorates this. The small monument and fountain were part of the nature trail from 1967 onwards. The water fed the Fürstenberg fountain on the main square until the 1980s. The Sängerbrunnen fountain was renovated in 2003. [naturpark-purkersdorf.at]

"Dedicated to the recreation of travelers by Her Excellency, Landgravine Charlotte of Fürstenberg. 1853." An inconspicuous, refreshing spring across from a supermarket. So you can skip the water purchase. :)

The Way of St. James runs from Vienna to Göttweig here. In the church, you can also get a stamp for your pilgrim's passport.
