Great Incline to the top

Beautiful forrest vibe lane. Makes you feel close to nature. Watch out for the potholes, especially if you don't have a photochromic lenses as it gets darks with tall trees around.

This was on my route unexpectedly. Left my mouth open for a bit. Very beautiful.

Short and steep.

Ashridge house and the surrounding woods are a great spot for a ride or a run. Elizabeth 1 spent parts of her childhood at the house.

The foundation for the original building was laid in 1280, where it was a Gatehouse for the northern approach to Ashridge and was used by Henry VIII as part of the hunting grounds. But following heavy damage by Cromwells armies, the lodge was rebuilt by the eminent architect Sir Jeffrey Wyattville in 1823. Little Gaddesden Lodge now functions extremely well as a private home.

Stunning, appears out of nowhere!

Here you will get views of Ashridge House once a royal residence to Henry VIII and Princess Elizabeth I. A Grade I neo-gothic country estate set in 190 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens. Today Ashridge House is an meeting, events and wedding venue.. For the weary cyclist or walker you will find a cafe set in a courtyard.

The road is set back from the best views, as the road levels out look for gaps that provide access to the best views of the Downs and Vale

A nice stretch of road on the edge of The Chilterns. Quiet and usually car free, but don't forget the small climb at the end.

"The church dates from c.1190. The tower arch is C13 and the side aisles are C14. The font is Norman, and the C15 roof has protective angels with shields! The Stag has recently been refurbished and is owned by the community. It has a Cycle Hub a dedicated undercover meet up space for a coffee and cake stop with its own service centre. Also Pub Gardens to enjoy in the summer. More info: https://thestag.pub/

Always a pleasure to pass through Mentmore and while the descent is always nice sometimes at the top it snice to take it gently and soak up the views
