This church was built in 1846 in Early English Gothic style. It is a Grade II listed building. The churchyard is quite beautiful, too. The church feels like it should be in a much quieter village and location - has that quaint, calming air to it.

A number of woods, clumped together, are here just north-east of Beaconsfield, offering you a chance for peaceful and tranquil time in the company of the tall beeches here. In the autumn, the colours are spectacular, and the sound of leaves under your feet delightful. A beautiful place to be.

Right next to The Church of St Mary here at the heart of Amersham, there is a really beautiful Garden of Remembrance and War Memorial dedicated to those who fell in World War 1. As for the church, it's a very old one, dating from the 13th century. The history of the church includes the persecution of the Lollards (16th century) when a group of locals known as Amersham Martyrs were burnt at the stake on the hill above the town. Since 1958, the church has been a Grade I listed building.
