The Hirschbergalpe is situated in a scenic location below the Hirschberg mountain and offers a cozy place to stop for refreshments on the meadow slopes above Langen. Surrounded by cows, wooden barns, and mountain views, you can enjoy genuine Vorarlberg alpine idyll here. It's the perfect spot to take a short break on the terrace or a bench before continuing towards the summit or back down into the valley.

The granary in Weiler is a striking, historically inspired building and a beautiful spot for photos in the village. It's a reminder of the village's agricultural and artisanal past and usually stands quietly by the roadside. It's well worth a quick stop to admire it.

The present-day parish church of St. Blasius in Weiler im Allgäu was built in 1795/96 as a Neoclassical church by Johann Georg Specht. The chancel tower dates back to the 14th century. The frescoes inside the church are particularly striking; they are by Andreas Brugger (1796/97). I found the church portal facing the cemetery open.

The parish of Weiler was probably established as early as the 9th century; it has been documented since 1275. A parish church has stood in Weiler since at least the 14th century, and its high altar was probably dedicated to the martyr St. Blaise as early as the High Middle Ages. The new parish church of St. Blaise was built on the site of the old church between 1795 and 1797.

The rainy summer of 1790 caused fodder shortages, crop failures, and high grain prices in the West Allgäu region. The starving citizens of Weiler therefore decided to build a granary as a storage facility for grain in times of need. The financial outlay soon paid off: traders and speculators were forced to lower their grain prices, and the citizens of Weiler survived the "hunger years" of 1816/1817 relatively unscathed.

The chapel was built around 1900. The rectangular structure has a flat gable roof and round-arched windows. Inside, there is an elaborately designed tuff grotto with a grille from the period of construction. The stained-glass windows, the pews, and the floor mosaic are simply ornamented and also date from the period of construction.

The border between Germany (Bavaria) and Austria (Vorarlberg) runs partially along the Eyenbach. The Eyenbach is a left tributary of the Rotach and forms the border in one section.
