春の陽射しの中、とてもかわいらしい村です。Axe and Compassというパブは、休憩に良さそうな場所ですが、立ち寄る時間がありませんでした。

No secure place to leave your bike where you can keep an eye on it.

This cafe has now changed management and is called Waffle and Coffee. Still has bike racks and outside seating although I did not see the bike locks last time I was there. Staff still great and the food is even better. Bacon and egg sandwich is very good. Coffee, Tea and cakes and of course waffles. Good clean toilets so well worth visiting as a rest stop.

Good pub for a stop - plenty of garden for bikes, plenty of real ales but no food just bar snacks. Also no tea or coffee last time I was there.

I've always found this to be a more fun descent than a climb. After descending, at the bottom you can turn left to go to Great Chishill (highest point in Cambridgeshire) or turn right and visit Saffron Walden and link up with the 2014 TdF route.
