A nice section of relatively quiet road north of Lilley. It's undulating rather than hilly and very nice to avoid the busy A6 or A505 which I wouldn't recommend.

It really is a stunning view. Coming out of the road covered by canopies and there it stands with its might, stretching quite a distance. Especially breathtaking when you have the sun up and a train is passing.

Fantastic wide views across towards the Barton Hills before the descent into Shillington.

Beautiful ride out. The “crumbs” bakery in Watton at Stone is a great place to stop for a re-fuel and is very cyclist friendly, with seating both inside and behind outside, with bike parking out back too

A ruined castle and lovely house. Went to see the snowdrops (February)... lovely tea room.. gardens are open at selected times throughout the year

Great little stop with excellent coffee, super cakes and friendly staff. Open 10am to 2.30pm Monday to Saturday (closed Sundays).
