I had a puncture around this location, where the road floods (as visible by the pebbles/detritus in the road). I recommend to *always* carry your bike over surfaces like that - not just here, but everywhere.

It is a nice pub with a big beer garden that has a place to lock your bikes up. Good selection of beers and a relaxed atmosphere.

Whitwell is a charming village located near Harpenden in Hertfordshire. Stop at the Bull Inn for a refreshing drink, or visit Emily's Tea Room and grab yourself some delicious cakes or coffee.

Northbound is *the* way to ride into Westmill. Fast, easy descent. A gut-buster southbound, especially with the wind coming off the fields in the middle stretch south of Thrift Wood.

Track? This is a village lane.

Pleasant, atmospheric, v old pub, complete with some animal enclosures. Enjoyed a nice meal there.

Lovely valley view with fields on either side. A very quiet road that's a pleasure to ride.

Beautiful church and area - great gravel trails around here

Nice Herts village with some ancient houses, a good pub and a tea room. Very good place to stop for a rest.

The centre of Old Knebworth - a lovely place to stop. Views of the house and war memorial, and there's a decent pub also.
