A long, passable forest road leads to the Verpeilalm. From the Verpeilalm, there's a beautiful footpath to the Verpeilhütte. The German Alpine Club (DAV) hut is located in a stunningly beautiful valley and features a very modern and clean interior. The food is excellent. From the Verpeilhütte, you can hike further into the beautiful valley.

Great hut in the Verpeiltal on the Verpeilbach. Freshly renovated, renewed and expanded, it is a real gem for hikers. The sanitary facilities are almost like a hotel. Super organization and great food round off the perfect overall impression. The Verpeilhütte, at an elevation of 2,025 meters, is a small German Alpine Club (DAV) mountain hut in the Verpeiltal Valley, Kaunergrat Nature Park, in the Ötztal Alps, Tyrol. We went the way from the Verpeilhütte to the Kaunergrathütte in August 2019 over the Madatschjoch. There were no signs indicating a blockage. In 2018 the road was closed due to falling rocks. The path to the yoke was a bit slippery and difficult to walk through scree and ice. At first we took the wrong way to the yoke, as we had seen the old kicks on the left side, so pay close attention to the waymarks. The descent from the yoke has some ladders and kicks. A simpler alternative route leads over the Verpeiljoch.

The Verpeilhütte has been lovingly renovated in recent years and has a tasteful ambience. There are fine rooms, super friendly staff, delicious food. A nice place to lick.
