St. Anthony's Chapel on the Lauberberg This chapel was first mentioned in a document in 1489, in which Fritz Brüler from Winterbach was ordered to deliver two metzen of annual grain rent to this chapel. According to a report by the treasurer Bartholomäus Korn of Dachsbach, it was already falling into disrepair in 1544, and in 1612 it was "completely deserted and therefore never visited". Its actual history only begins again at the end of the 17th century, when it was repaired based on a vow that the later Höchstadt bailiff Georg von Lauter had made in 1674 as an imperial sergeant major in the Strasbourg camp. From 1678 onwards, services could be held here again. The establishment of the pilgrimage to the chapel was thanks to the efforts of the Höchstadt pastors Johann Philipp Hellmuth and Michael Joseph Mühlich, who also wrote a devotional book about the pilgrimage.
