Lake Walchsee, at the foot of the imposing Kaiser Mountains, is not only one of the most beautiful but also one of the warmest lakes in Tyrol. This makes it a popular bathing lake and a true flagship of the Kaiserwinkl region in the Tyrolean lowlands – in fact, Lake Walchsee was even immortalized with a blue wave in the village coat of arms of the municipality of the same name. The lake has many exciting and astonishing facts and stories to offer that are guaranteed to surprise you.

The church was first mentioned in a document in 1220. The parish probably existed since the 8th or 9th century. Since 1315, the church has been incorporated into the Frauenchiemsee Monastery. The current building was constructed between 1746 and 1747 and is attributed to the architect Jakob Singer. After a fire, the church was rebuilt in 1876.
