Obertilliach is a beautiful town in the district of Lienz, located in the area of Tyrol, Austria. It is located in the southeast of the state, in the East Tyrol region, southeast of the city of Innsbruck —the state capital— and near the border with Italy. Many mtb routes leave from here.

You beautiful parish church St. Ulrich was built between 1762 and 1764 and extensively renovated in 2009. With its proud church tower it towers above all other buildings in Obertilliach and is one of the most beautiful places of worship in the Lesach Valley. It is not a popular place of pilgrimage for nothing. Inside is the tabernacle Our Lady of Obertilliach from 1935.

Very cozy little town with heaps to see and do around.

The village of Obertilliach is a feast for the eyes. Many painters and photographers have been fascinated by the narrow village streets in the listed town center with its farmhouses, some of which are over 300 years old. In Obertilliach, Austria's only night watchman makes his rounds twice a week (Tuesdays and Fridays) at night and keeps an eye on "the Foir and Liacht"!
