On the facade of a historic townhouse on Raitenaustraße in Hallein stands this listed statue of Saint John of Nepomuk. The figure is part of the architectural ensemble and likely dates from the late 18th century, a time when statues of Nepomuk were widespread throughout the Habsburg Empire. John of Nepomuk (c. 1345–1393), a Bohemian priest and martyr, was canonized in 1729 and became a popular patron saint, particularly in southern Germany and Austria, protecting against the dangers of water and upholding the seal of confession. The statue on Raitenaustraße is in typical Baroque style and depicts Nepomuk in priestly vestments, holding a cross and a martyr's palm, symbolizing his steadfastness in faith. Integrated into the facade of the house, it is considered a defining element of Hallein's historic old town. The building itself is a traditional bourgeois residence with Baroque and Neoclassical stylistic elements, and is a listed historical monument. The connection to the Kothbach Bridge underscores the significance of Nepomuk as a patron saint of bridges. The statue on Raitenaustraße, along with other depictions of Nepomuk in Hallein, is part of a local network of small religious monuments that reflects the Catholic piety and cultural heritage of the city.

On the way to the Großer Barmstein you pass through a very beautiful part of the forest, the floor of which is covered with rubble.
