This one has been the talk of the city for a couple of weeks. Still be careful by bike as cars are not really used to the bike priority. A second one is already under discussion.

Parkers Piece is 25 grassy acres of pathways and pitches, that is reputed to be the birthplace of the rules of football.

After being closed for 9 months, the bakery has reopened as a cafe/deli. There’s not really anywhere to park a bike but you can prop a couple outside while you sit at the bar just inside the door. Great coffee, pastries, cakes & toasties. Open Wed-Fri 9am-4pm, Sat 9am-2pm.

Delicious freshly baked pastries and cakes, and good coffee too. Opposite you can sit in the garden and browse the art gallery. Highly recommend

A lovely cafe serving a selection of cakes and savouries - their scotch eggs!! They also serve breakfast sandwiches, frittatas and all the usual hot / cold drinks - their coffee beans are roasted locally, the fizzy drinks are from indie producers and there is a theme of sustainability running through everything they do. There is a lunch menu but I've not been late enough to see it! They also make celebration cakes to order!

This is a great off-road climb, steep in parts, and unlike some photos not at all wet in peak summer.

Great place to stop by in the summer with a bike, as they have benches on the front, good coffee, generous food portions

It's actually located one block up the road.

From reports and the previous pictures, I had avoided this section of the Roman Road (east of Hildersham Rd) in the rainy, cold months. It does look nicer and ride well enough in the summer, albeit bumpy due to tractor tracks.

Common in the Netherlands - roundabout giving priority to cyclists and pedestrians- 1st of its kind in the UK.

Currently closed (24th March 2024) while waiting for a new landlord to arrive. Check before you leave to maks=e sure its reopened.

Busy road and cars often queueing for the main city centre car park, with a narrow cycle lane. Sometimes you can't avoid it but no reason to seek this out.

Road from Bartlow to Linton closed until May 2024. Recommend staying on Linton road

I go often to the south of Cambridge and I take this very safe road at all times.

Short yet sweet little cycle path, just remember to slow down on each end, and don't forget to say hello to the horses that often roam the field running adjacent to the path.

Fast connection to the city, pretty straight and surprisingly ok asphalt.

Despite the global reputation the buildings here are rather boring. For a historic perspective better visit the old site in Cambridge opposite of King's.

Guided buslane and bike path to cross the railway - currently the bus part is closed due to construction and some smaller detours need to be expected on the Cambridge side.

One of the largest hubs for biomedical research in Europe with a number of leading institutes and companies on site. Still expanding with quite some construction work running (AstraZeneca is still not finished :-))
