The parish church of St. Mary's Assumption in Weißenkirchen in the Wachau, with its mighty defensive walls, dominates the distant view of the market town on the Danube. The Gothic tower rises proudly into the sky and crowns the complex structure. The interior contains beautiful works of art, primarily from the Baroque period. We found the church open.
