Epping Forest is a beautiful ancient woodland bordering Essex and Greater London. It is one of the largest public open spaces in the London area, covering around 2,400 hectares (approximately 5,900 acres). The forest stretches about 12 miles (19 km) from Epping in the north to Wanstead in the south. These days, Epping Forest is a popular destination for outdoor activities. Visitors can enjoy walking, cycling, horse riding, birdwatching, and picnicking. The forest also offers a network of well-marked mountain biking trails right next to London. Here there are epic mud rides in the winter and gorgeous green bashes in the summer. There is a lot of biking fun to have here.

Blackmore village is a place to visit they have a great Tea room Homemade cakes made on the premises just across the road there is a little church rumour have it Henry the eighth went there

An artists' hub - glass blowing, painting, pottery, even a luthier (guitar maker)! Remember to walk your bike through the gate and across the bridge so as not to upset those working at the Mill.

Parndon Mill has a rich history dating back to the 19th century, when it operated as a busy watermill. The original mill was burnt down by a fire in 1897, but rebuilt in 1900 and transformed into a community arts hub. The mill has studios, galleries, and workshops for local artists and craftspeople. There's also a pretty lock and great views down the river from here, a nice place to sit and enjoy a snack.

Fantastic cafe stop in the pretty village of Blackmore. They've got a great menu and loads of outside space, a real favourite of local and London cyclists.
