Located in close proximity to Thorndon Old Hall which burnt down in the 18th century, the Pond is also known as Old Hall Pond. It is now a fishing lake and a popular spot for walkers. Make sure you pop out of the woods at the south west corner of the pond for incredible views over the Essex countryside to the south.

Ingrebourne marshes is the largest freshwater marshland in Greater London and there's plenty to explore here. It's a vital breeding ground for a wide array of birds and you can learn all about the surrounding habitats at the visitor centre here. There are plenty of facilities as well as paths to roam around.

A fishing lake, this little patch of water lies in Ingrebourne Valley Nature Reserve. You can spot plenty of waterfowl here and it's a great spot for a picnic while you're walking in the area. You can walk north through the reserve and through Hornchurch Country Park. The London LOOP walk goes right past.
