Good viewpoint. Easy access via Octavia Hill trail

The Phillips Memorial Park is named after John George (Jack) Phillips of Francombe. Phillips died in during the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, selflessly sending out a distress signal in Morse code while the ship sank. The park is home to a conservation meadow, pond and lovely riverside walks.

The ancient market and coaching town of Godalming's characterful boutiques and picturesque surroundings make it a lovely place to visit. For walkers there are pleasant strolls along the River Wey and more energetic hikes on the commons and in the woodlands of the Surrey Hills. There are plenty of hotels and B&Bs in the town, as well as great places to eat and drink.

This area of commonland was an ancient settlement with excavations revealing both neolithic and mesolithic flint tools. It was an overgrown area of wasteland until about 20 years ago when it was cut back, opening up the beautiful public space you see today.

Hydon's Ball is a prominent hilltop situated in the Surrey Hills AONB not too far from Godalming. The hilltop is one of the top 10 highest points in Surrey and is marked by a trig point. The hill is home to a lovely variety of heathland and woodland, and there are some lovey views on offer of the surrounding countryside from the top. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife whilst you're here, including butterflies and birds of prey.

Hambledon Church is a beautiful, gothic-style, 12th century church situated in the village of Hambledon. The exterior of the church features a gorgeous nave, chancel, and tower, and the interior is filled with intricate woodwork, stained-glass windows, and a wonderful altar.
