The best café/bar on Lake Millstatt. Always a good place for a coffee and cake stop. The breakfast buffet is also highly recommended. There are also numerous bike racks in front of the cape where you can park your bike.

The bays and shores of Lake Millstatt are very different. The western bay, with its rather built-up shoreline, contrasts with the mystical southern bay. To soak up these differences, a leisurely bike ride around the lake is recommended. I now prefer a clockwise cycle, as it brings you closer to the shore.

The patronage of the Millstatt Abbey Church is doubly interesting. Often, it is one, sometimes two, saints (people venerated by the Church as 'Blessed' or 'Holy' due to their exemplary character in Christian life) to whom the patronage of a church is recommended. In the case of the Millstatt Abbey Church, however, a double patronage has been awarded, and two very special ones at that: + The first patron saint is not a holy person, but Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God. The honorary title used, "Salvator," means savior/redeemer in German. + The second patron saint is not just one person, but the entire abundance of heavenly saints, i.e., ALL SAINTS. A greater abundance of blessing is impossible.
