Great walk to Amberley Castle or South Downs Way.

This would be ridable if your are super fit, good at pacing yourself with extreme energy burst required. The SDW after crossing the main road has a slight incline (feels quite bad on a a BMX), Y junction with a short tarmac road to an extreme short hill climb on the left (heading East). wooden fence at the bottom, loose big flints and boulders make this section extreme. It levels out to a chalk path before another climb that looks like a climb into the clouds but . . . the view from the top is spectacular and worth it. Good for training and testing your skills.

Greatham Bridge is a historic bridge which spans the River Arun at Waltham Brooks Nature Reserve. It was built towards the end of the 13th century and benefited from significant restoration work in 2003.

The River Arun and the West Sussex Rother which flows into it are blessed with some of the finest medieval bridges around. Greatham Bridge is no exception, although the easternmost section of it was replaced with a less attractive iron span in the nineteenth century, most of the length of the bridge remains seems to look exactly as it was seven centuries ago.
