Beautiful woodland to run through

This point marks the top of the paved hill through the court. A good climb to get started and learn how to use your gears. Watch out for the speed bumps when going down.

This is the quietest woodland in Ashton Court. Right next to the deer park and with dense parts opening out to vistas of the city.

The location of a manor house ever since the 11th century, Ashton Court and its extensive estate is a grand setting to the west of Bristol. Owned by the Smyth family between the 16th and 20th centuries, today the mansion and its stables are Grade I-listed. The surrounding estate includes a deer park, woodland, MTB trails and golfing facilities and is an absolute delight to explore, rewarding with fine views across Bristol. After a run in the parkland, the Courtyard Cafe is a tempting option.

Popular with walkers, cyclists and runners, the Pill Path follows the Avon from the city out to the village of Pill, near where the river empties into the Severn Estuary. The running is great fun on a gently undulating trail. There are superb views of Clifton Suspension Bridge and the cliffs of the Avon Gorge.

Really nice gravel climb out (heading away from Clifton Bridge). Great surface. Great views.

A beautiful bench situated in a quiet part of Ashton Court that faces eastwards. If you can muster an early start it would be a wonderful place to catch the sunrise.

Just about doable on a road bike, but you'll probably want a gravel bike.

Absolutely wonderful gravel climb or descent back into the centre of Ashton Court. A number of the mountain bike trails meet at the top of the climb, keep going up and end up on Longwood Lane. Some of the best views of Bristol are seen when descending too!

The ‘Courtyard Cafe’ is a convenient place to stop for a cuppa and loads of outside space. It’s on the Eastern side of the mansion house by the car park.

Check the closing times of the gates as your enter. They tend to follow sunset throughout the year.
