Great view up the Arun towards the sea

The beaches in this area all seem to have groins / jetties to stop coastal erosion and stop the pebbles being washed away. There are no sand beaches, they all seem to be small to medium size stone beaches. Many areas have loads of pebbles washed up onto the concrete shore lines. At times you have to dismount and push the bike through these sections, or try to pick a compact line furthest away from the beach side

Esplanades tend to be nice chilled section to ride on, flat tarmac surfaces that do not take much physical exertion, combined with a relatively slow pace, normally quite a lot of people around. Bognor is a nice one to ride on

The seafront road is great in a SW wind to push you along

This is a pretty cool bridge, as it is one of the few retractable steel pedestrian footbridges in existence. The bridge linking East and West Littlehampton across the River Arun in 1981 has a retractable steel section to allow access to any piloted vessels upriver. It gives great views up and down the River Arun from here too.

Dating back to 1865, the Bognor Pier is one of the most iconic landmarks of Bognor Regis.

Running along the Bognor Regis seafront, The Esplanade is a classic British seafront promenade. With playgrounds, cafés, charming beach huts, and scenic views of the south coast, the Esplanade is an integral part of Bognor.
