The last of the pits in the North Somerset Coalfield closed in 1973. The former Kilmersdon Pit Wheel is a memorial to the miners who worked them.

Bike shop open Mon, Tue, Thur and Fri 9:00 - 17:00. Wed 9:00 - 12:00 and Sat 9:00 - 15:00. Sun closed. Riverbank café open Mon and Tue 9:00 - 16:00. Wed and Thur 9:00 - 17:00. Fri 9:00 - 21:00. Sat 10:00 - 21:00. Sun 12:00 - 20:30.

Free parking, but only a few spaces! Right by a kissing gate to the Limestone or follow down the road to the other Limestone entrance

This walk can easily be adapted to many capability levels. You have the option of a 1,2 or 3 mile walk.There is limited parking at the Community Centre in Clapton. This walk is suitable for prams as the route is all on country roads. Plenty of views, wildlife and domestic farm animals to be seen on route.

Stopped here for a quick bite. Food was really good and had a outdoor seating area. Went on a Saturday and only opened at 12 though.

Nice to use to link up some sections

A gravelly track that provides an excellent way of getting between the Bristol area and Radstock when combined with Featherbed lane. Well compacted, a few puddles but mostly a well-maintained track used by locals.
