The Bruder Klaus Church at Hubertussee is a small, atmospherically situated Catholic church on the northern shore of the lake in Walstern near Mariazell. Built in 1966/67, it is dedicated to Saint Nicholas of Flüe, also known as Brother Klaus. The simple architecture blends harmoniously into the surrounding landscape, with the stained-glass windows depicting scenes from the saint's life and the striking iron entrance portal adding distinctive touches.

A bike trip to the government district of St. Pölten is definitely worthwhile. This modern district lies directly on the Traisen River and is easily accessible via the Traisental Cycle Path. Between the Landhaus (state government building), the Festspielhaus (festival hall), the Museum Niederösterreich (Museum of Lower Austria), and the striking Klangturm (sound tower), the largely car-free area can be comfortably explored by bicycle. Wide paths, plenty of greenery, and good cycle connections make the government district a pleasant stopover or starting point for further tours along the Traisen or towards the Danube.

The Prandtauer Church in St. Pölten, officially the Rectory Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, was built as the monastery church of the Carmelite nuns and named after the architect Jakob Prandtauer. Construction began at the beginning of the 18th century and was completed in 1712. It was consecrated on June 10, 1725, by Bishop Joseph Dominikus Count Lamberg. The patron was Princess Maria Antonia Josepha Montecuccoli; the design is believed to be by Martin Wittwer, while Jakob Prandtauer oversaw the construction. Stylistically, the church belongs to the early Austrian Baroque period, with influences from Matthias Steinl. After the dissolution of the monastery under Emperor Joseph II in the late 18th century, the church was deconsecrated, meaning it was removed from its liturgical use. The interior was completely emptied. It was not until 1934 that work began to refurnish and restore it for religious use. The former Carmelite monastery next to the church now houses the St. Pölten City Museum, which opened in 1976. It displays collections on the city's history, archaeology, and art, including Art Nouveau works, and combines Baroque architecture with modern museum design. Today, the Prandtauer Church once again serves as the rectoral church of the Diocese of St. Pölten and, together with the City Museum, forms a significant cultural ensemble in the city.
