This spot by the River Mole gives a tremendous view of Box Hill. One of the North Downs' most iconic summits, Box Hill attracts almost a million visitors every year. The chalk downland of its southern slopes are notable for supporting many orchids and other rare plant species.

Nestled by the River Mole, the Dolphin is a lovely country pub that serves traditional pub food and seasonal specials too. It's on the Greensand Way, a 108-mile (174 km) long-distance trail through Surrey and Kent. There's plenty else to explore in the surrounding countryside too, such as Betchworth Castle's ruins, the historic St Michael's Church and the ever-popular Box Hill.

Built in 1898, Reigate Fort is a scheduled monument built as part of the London Defence Scheme. You can look at the exterior of the fort at any time during daylight hours, but to go inside, you must book a guided tour.

Brockham is a picturesque little village to the south of Box Hill. It is famous locally for its huge bonfire and firework display which takes over the whole village on Bonfire Night. If you are in the area at the beginning of November, it is well worth coming along to check it out.
