Klosterneuburg Abbey is a true heavyweight of Austrian cultural history – not only because it has existed for over 900 years, but also because it is a fascinating blend of sacred art, imperial grandeur, and first-class wine. The abbey was founded in 1114 by Saint Leopold III (the patron saint of Lower Austria). Legend has it that a gust of wind carried off his wife Agnes's wedding veil. Leopold vowed to build a monastery on the spot where he found it. Nine years later, he supposedly found it unharmed on an elderberry bush – and he kept his word.

The lawn is easily accessible by bike, as a flat path runs along the Danube's banks, and the surrounding area is ideal for relaxing bike rides. Here, a tranquil atmosphere, nature experiences, and a historic backdrop combine to create a perfect day trip destination.

The bathing area on the Danube tributary in Greifenstein is an idyllic spot for relaxing and swimming, located directly on the Danube Cycle Path and thus particularly easy to reach by bike. The surrounding area boasts quiet coves, lush meadows, and a clear view of Greifenstein Castle opposite. In addition to swimming, cyclists can explore the surrounding area or enjoy the view. In the summer months, there is also a trampoline facility, a playground, and a beach volleyball court nearby. Getting there by bike is easy, and the area offers a refreshing break in nature.

Klosterneuburg Abbey is an Augustinian Canons Regular monastery with over 900 years of history, founded in 1114 by Margrave Leopold III, later canonized as the patron saint of Austria. It served as a residence of the Babenberg and Habsburg dynasties and played a significant role in the country's development. Today, the abbey is a center for religion, culture, and scholarship, where nearly fifty canons, together with numerous staff members, preserve the monastery's heritage. Among its most important sights are the Verdun Altar, the Austrian Archduke's Hat, the Sala Terrena, the Imperial Apartments, the Abbey Museum, the Abbey Church with its magnificent organ, and the largest private library in Austria.
