An Bang Beach is the most popular beach in Hoi An and was ranked among the top 10 most beautiful beaches in Asia by TripAdvisor in 2024. Located about 4 to 5 km east of the Old Town, it is known for its fine white sand, clear water, and lively yet relaxed atmosphere. However, it cannot compete with the fabulous beaches of the Mediterranean coast in Spain and Italy.

Here you'll find more traditional market stalls where you can admire the many agricultural products and buy small items such as spices, coffee, pastries, and various kitchenware (coffee filters for Vietnamese coffee, chopsticks, and ceramics). Prices are somewhat lower, and you should definitely haggle for items that aren't locally produced.

The old town is beautiful with many historic buildings. There's plenty to eat, drink, shop, and much more. A boat trip is best taken in the evening when the lanterns are on. Towards evening, there are also additional souvenir stalls, and the night market opens as well. However, they all tend to sell pretty much the same things.

The historic wooden architecture is a feast for the eyes from the outside. But the interior is also absolutely worth seeing.

Those who prefer peace and quiet should go to Hidden Beach or one of the beaches located further out.
