Coastal path, good for watching wildlife, do take binoculars though, as the path is slightly above the tidal zone

Cooling castle is a 14th century quadrangle castle, built to defend french raids on the Thames estuary.

I ate a Cornish pastie and drank a lovely white coffee for only £3.70. A great place.

Cooling Castle was built in the 1380s by the Cobham family, the local lords, to guard the area against French raids. Over the years, the castle was ravaged by gunpowder attacks. These days, the castle is on private land but you can view it from the road.
