It's a landmark of Doha and can be seen from afar. It's shaped like a spiral lighthouse. It's an active place of worship. Visitors are supposed to be able to enjoy traditional coffee here and learn about the Qatari way of life, the country's heritage, and its culture. We didn't try that, though. The magnificent view was enough for us. The square in front of the mosque separates two souk districts, both of which are worth visiting.

The Corniche is a roughly 5km long strip of land running directly along the water. What's missing is some shade. Otherwise, it's wonderful here.

Not far from the cruise terminal, practically directly opposite, lies this colorful collection of authentic-looking buildings. It's usually bustling here, with tourists mingling with locals, creating a vibrant atmosphere. There are numerous shops and restaurants. Of course, there's some touristy stuff, but a stroll through the alleys is well worth it.

...And right behind it is the best fish restaurant in Doha. Unfortunately always very full. It's best to put yourself on the waiting list and then wait in the reception area. This makes it quicker to get a seat than to accept the offer to be notified by phone when the table is free 😉

The pearl monument is designed like a shell with a pearl. It refers to the historic pearl trade and pearl diving in Doha Bay. The monument is located on the Corniche, the seven-kilometer-long promenade on the shores of the Arabian Gulf at the entrance to the Dhow Harbor.
