Vazon Swing Bridge is a conventional swing bridge but nearby the railway crosses to the south side of the canal on a very rare type of sliding bridge. This is the Vazon sliding railway bridge, which moves aside to allow boats to navigate down the Stainforth and Kneadby canal.

Crowle is a small market town next to the Stainforth and Keadby Canal. It's a quaint place and has a parish church that contains the Crowle Stone runic cross shaft along with a striking Gothic revival market hall.

Nice RSPB reserve. Egrets, Hen Harriers and loads more. Friendly, helpful...and tea or coffee, crisps etc.

The Trent is the third-longest river in the United Kingdom. Its source is in Staffordshire, on the southern edge of Biddulph Moor. It flows through and drains the North Midlands. The river is known for dramatic flooding after storms and spring snowmelt, which in the past often caused the river to change course.

Built in 1709, this attractive Grade 1 listed house was the childhood home of pioneering evangelists John and Charles Wesley. The house is currently open for tours, Tues, Weds, Thurs, Saturdays.
