Free tasting of different types of cheeses and factory sales of those. Nice, little shop with all types of cowish, sheepish and Yorkshirish devotionals.

Lovely licensed cafe have a warm Yorkshire welcome to 4 wet cyclists. Tea and meat pie with chips.

Great for a lunch stop. Under no circumstances miss the deep fried Wensleydale

Force Gill, or Low Force Waterfall is just off the main path going up to Whernside. A little side trail takes you right into the tiny, gorgeous amphitheatre that hosts this beautiful 15-meter/50-foot waterfall. It is also not that far from Ribblehead Viaduct, so it is a really great family-friendly walk to get to it. It is a beautiful setting and makes for a great rest stop.

Dent Town in the heart of Dentdale is a real chocolate box village. With its beautiful cobbled streets, historical architecture, accommodation offerings, two pubs, shops and cafes, it offers a great day out or place to stay when adventuring in the area.

Completed in 1874 and opened in 1876 the Ribbelhead Viaduct or Batty Moss Viaduct is one of the most iconic sights in Yorkshire. It's used regularly by passenger trains, freight and historic steam trains running the Settle–Carlisle Line.

Although no church was recorded in the Domesday Book, it is generally accepted that the building dates from 1130 and was subsequently enlarged adopting its present shape in 1350 when the tower was added. The inner north doorway is probably the earliest surviving part of the church, and this suggests that there has always been a north aisle. In the late 1800s, a major restoration of the church was carried out.

The Clapham tunnels were constructed by the Farrar family to provide a route underneath the Ingleborough Hall Estate connecting the village of Clapham with Fell Lane, which leads along Clapdale.

Monumental arches of the viaduct

An iconic Viaduct in the Yorkshire Dales, and a very photogenic one. It's also a great place to start and finish the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, meaning you miss the crowds who set off from Horton in Ribblesdale and get Whernside ticked off quickly. Starting here also means you have a long flat (ish) walk back rather than a long walk then Ingleborough!
