Just off the walk on Main Street - country pub with quirky garden

Good views from the highpoint next to the comms tower. Can see for miles in all directions on a clear day - a good spot for a breather!

This is a great Bridleway from Daventry to Flecknoe, the only down point is stopping to open and close gates.

In this subway you will find some great graffiti/art, remembering a time Daventry have a railway line.

A lovely ride around Daventry country Park, easy cycling on the gravel path. Be aware this can be a busy park with runner's, dog walker's and children.

This is the northern side of the Braunston Tunnel on the Grand Union Canal. Braunston Tunnel is 2,042 yards in length.

Lower Shuckburgh Bridge No 104 is a place on the waterways on the Grand Union Canal (Oxford Canal Section) between Napton Junction (Junction of Grand Union and Oxford Canals) (1 mile and 4½ furlongs to the west) and Flecknoe Bridge No 102 (Flecknoe village half a mile southeast) (1 mile and 2 furlongs to the northeast). The nearest place in the direction of Napton Junction is Dunks Footbridge No 105; 1 furlong away. The nearest place in the direction of Flecknoe Bridge No 102 is New Bridge No 103; 4½ furlongs away.

The Anglican Church of St John the Baptist, was built in the Imperial period, sits on the site of a Medieval church. It is situated in Lower Shuckburgh. The parish chuch of St John the Baptist was rebuilt after a fire in 1864.  It is constructed of a mixture of dark and light sandstone with limestone bands. The interior is decorated with Moorish tiles in Gothic style.

Quick run through grassy tracks of golf course

Lower Shuckburgh is a lovely little village just of the Oxford Canal in rural Warwickshire. Its biggest attraction is the Church of Saint John the Baptist and its gothic stylings. Built in 1864, the church is now Grade II-listed. Particularly poignant is the 15-foot (5 m) war memorial, built in 1921 of Hornton stone.

This is a hidden gem! An unassuming gate leading into a place of tranquility. I doubled back on my ride to investigate and was surprised and delighted to find this place. A large grassed area surrounded on all sides by the wall and trees creating a quiet place to sit and reflect on the days ride. Perfect for mid ride lunch (if you didn't pop into the local pub of course) or a picnic, the cloisters provide an unusual point of interest and contain plenty of seating if you are with a group. There are a few rules to enjoying this space listed on a sign to the far right of the cloister wall looking back towards the entry gate.

Superb traditional village pub which has managed to retain it's character. Great place in the summer as the beer garden is nothing if not unique! Definately worth a quick beer or snack even if it's just to sit in the garden next to the bottle tree or one other the unusual additions. It's an amazing place in the autum and winter when it's cold outside as there is a roaring open fire and a couple of snug areas with books to read and countless pictures of the village and characters that live there.

Erected in 1908 in memory of Colonel Edmund Charles Burton or prominent local figure.

The end of the towpath, you'll need to climb a pretty steep path to the left to get up to the small car park and road at the top.

Stop in mid ride for a look at the latest bikes, clothing, equipment and accessories or pick up a bargain from the baskets near the door. You never know when you're going to need a spare inner tube or replacement whatsit for your thingamijig. And best of all you can grab a coffee and cake (or something healthier) at the in store cafe.

Well kept paths around the park, about a 5 km loop. Also site of Daventry Parkrun.
