Great Little Cafe with Friendly Staff. Indoor and Outdoor Seating. Not much room for bikes but solo or small groups definitely worth a stop if you are passing.

It's perhaps not the most scenic place you will ever walk but Watford Gap has a certain charm for transport enthusiasts. Here pass the historic Roman Watling Street, the A5, the Birmingham to London railway line, the Grand Union Canal and the M1 motorway. The reason all these major transport arteries pass through here is because Watford Gap is a low-lying region between hills on the limestone escarpment that crosses the heart of England. It's a crucial link between the Midlands and the South East, with many citing it as the dividing line between Northern and Southern England.

Daventry Country Park is a popular park ideally situated in the urban fringe of Daventry, within one mile of the town centre and easily accessible by car, bicycle or on foot with the benefit of cycle ways and footpaths from the surrounding areas. With a large reservoir, a cafe selling hot and cold food, an adventure playground, outdoor gym equipment, numerous picnic spots, a nature trail, accessible bird hides, and a wealth of wildlife, Daventry Country Park is a great family day out. The Park has been awarded the Country Parks Accreditation and also holds a Green Flag Award recognising it as being among the best green spaces in the country.

The end of the towpath, you'll need to climb a pretty steep path to the left to get up to the small car park and road at the top.

Stop in mid ride for a look at the latest bikes, clothing, equipment and accessories or pick up a bargain from the baskets near the door. You never know when you're going to need a spare inner tube or replacement whatsit for your thingamijig. And best of all you can grab a coffee and cake (or something healthier) at the in store cafe.

Interesting little shop beside the canal selling all manner of canal related items both old and new. While you're there grab yourself an ice cold ice cream or lolly to cool yourself down on a hot day.

Long flat runs along canal path, access from nearby quiet road. Path can be muddy and wet.

Cafe with bike racks inside the store. Huge selection of bikes, clothes, spares and accessories for all disciplines. Plus workshop for repairs. Very friendly and helpful staff.
