A small museum showcasing the village's educational heritage. A historic schoolroom! The house, dating from 1876, is located just a few meters from Hollinghus. Open Saturdays or by appointment. A fascinating glimpse into village life during the Kaiser's reign. A classic, stately building constructed of yellow brick. The teacher's living room features a polyphonic record player. An entertaining stop. Admission is by donation, and coffee is available.

The small museum can be opened with a push button during opening hours (photo). Here you can learn a lot about the finds at the "North Sea port of Haitabu and Schleswig" in the Middle Ages, shipbuilding and transport technology. There are also information boards on the same topic at the rest area opposite the church and on Lahmenstraat at the "Apfelschiff" organic fruit farm. There, a very successful transparent board offers a "view" of the old Viking houses in the current landscape.

The Lamberti Church, located in the center of Mildstedt, is one of the oldest churches in the region and was built around 1200. At that time, Mildstedt was a thriving trading center in the Südergoesharde region. This landscape, located between the Treene and Arlau rivers, is part of the Schleswig-Holstein Geest and was an administrative district until the mid-19th century. From March to September, Bergenhusen is probably the center of the world for many nature lovers and bird lovers 🌍. Up to 19 pairs of storks come here every year and raise their young in the "stork village" of Bergenhusen. In spring the storks occupy their nests to mate and in summer you can already watch the proud parents feeding the offspring 🐣. At the end of the breeding season, a very special and impressive spectacle takes place when the young storks make their first attempts to fly ❤️. PS: A visit to the stork exhibition at the Michael Otto Institute in NABU is recommended for those who are interested.
