Beautiful church - and a great bike path next to the guided bus line.

From the St Neots Rd, this seems to be the only accessible route toward the back of Knapwell Wood. However, prepare for mud and overgrowth and some hike-a-(gravel)bike.

Scenic yes, but I do not recall any gravel. It did tend to be quite muddy in parts in late-October.

Muddy in winter

A section of the guided busway bridleway that runs from Cambridge to St Ives. There is a bike path that runs alongside it. There are spectacular views of the Fen Drayton Lakes Nature Reserve.

The attractive village of Swavesey is wonderfully rural, with its old windmill and farmers' fields. Just a short walk from the Fen Drayton Lake Nature Reserve and with the Pathfinder Long Distance Walk passing close by, there's plenty to draw walkers to the area. The village has a good pub, the White Horse Inn, which serves great food.

Northstowe didn't exisit until recently. The first families moved in during 2017 and by 2040 it is expected to be a modern and sustainable town housing 24,000 people. There are plenty of greenspaces, such as the ponds, trails and parkland at Northstowe Water Park. The whole town is built on the site of the former barracks of RAF Oakington, an airfield that played a crucial role during the Second World War. The Pathfinder Long Distance Trail, which honours the memory of the region's brave pilots, passes by the new town.
