A fantastic cycling and hiking trail runs along here, amidst beautiful scenery. We hiked along this route in February, surrounded by stunning nature, and it was wonderful. Highly recommended.

A fantastic stretch of beach on Krautsand with a playground, toilet facilities, open shower, bistro, seating, large parking lot, information boards, bicycle racks and a dog beach, as well as a site manager during the summer months.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. George is a listed church building in Oberndorf (Oste). The church tower was originally built around 1300, the baroque nave was built in 1653 after the original nave had become dilapidated. The interior of the church is simple but attractive. Beautiful cycle path along the road with good asphalt. Crossing the wooden bridge is over heavy cobblestones, but it is an essential part of the route. Also on the way to Wischhafen, as the barrier is now closed.

On June 17th, 2024, we asked a woman and her dog for directions. We wanted to know if you could cross the bridge on the Wischhafener Süderelbe by bike. But she didn't know her way around. She was probably on vacation in Krautsand. As we continued our journey, a couple came towards us on their bikes and told us that the bridge was closed. We then rode back with them. The woman with the dog on a leash was still standing on the path and we rode past her. Last of all, my wife. The dog snapped and bit my right calf. A relatively small wound became infected and we drove to the hospital in Flensburg on June 20th, 2024, where we were treated. We were advised not to continue our journey by bike. We therefore had to end our cycling trip. Perhaps someone can provide information about the dog owner or has met her. Middle-aged woman, 45 to 50 years old, long dark hair. Dog shoulder height approx. 50 cm, long, mottled black, brown, beige hair.
