1839年にマルパスのセント・オズワルド教会の補助礼拝堂として建設されました。これは当時の人口急増に対応するためでした。建築家はランカスター出身のエドモンド・シャープで、ゴシック・リバイバル様式の教会建築でよく知られていました。土地はオウルトンのフィリップ・グレイ・エジャートン卿から寄贈され、資金は公募によって集められました。合計で約2,000ポンドが集まりましたが、そのうち教会自体の建設費に使われたのは700ポンドのみでした。さらに300ポンドが牧師館の建設に充てられ、残りは牧師の収入源として運用されました。また、教会はインコーポレイテッド教会建築協会から120ポンドの助成金を受けました。1840年1月7日にチェスター主教ジョン・サムナーによって聖別され、1869年には独立した教区教会となりました。 現在はグレードIIの指定建造物であり、今も現役の教区教会として機能しています。教会の墓地には、交差点を見下ろす場所に戦争記念碑があります。

Llangollen is a town and community, situated on the River Dee, in Denbighshire, Wales. Its riverside location forms the edge of the Berwyn range, and the Dee Valley section of the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with the easternmost point of the Dee Valley Way being within the town. It is a wonderful location to ride on all kinds of bikes with the canal running along Llangollen its much better to take that route as the roads are very busy.

The Llangollen Canal (Welsh: Camlas Llangollen) is a navigable canal crossing the border between England and Wales. The waterway links Llangollen in Denbighshire, north Wales, with Hurleston in south Cheshire, via the town of Ellesmere, Shropshire. The name, which was coined in the 1980s, is a modern designation for parts of the historic Ellesmere Canal and the Llangollen navigable feeder, both of which became part of the Shropshire Union Canals in 1846. The path is absolutely wonderful and can get very busy in summer holidays, especially around the tea rooms and horses that pull the canal boats. You will be asked not to ride past these points and walk past the horses.

This is the first place you come to if you take the canal route into Llangollen. Make sure you dismount before getting to the horse drawn boats.

Beeston Castle is a former Royal castle in Beeston, Cheshire, England, perched on a rocky sandstone crag 350 feet above the Cheshire Plain. It was built in the 1220s by Ranulf de Blondeville, 6th Earl of Chester, on his return from the Crusades.
