lovely cafe and great to see an old station in use - the whole line is amazing to ride along

Owner is very friendly and helpful. Lots of picnic benches on the verge opposite to enjoy a drink and the view, assuming weather is up to it.

Free car parks off the front and free parking in the road.

"The imposing black & white frontage of the former Mostyn House School, built in 1895, still dominates this section of The Parade. The original 18th century building, at its core, was formerly known as the Mostyn Arms (and previously the George Inn); it was from here that stage coaches once departed for Chester. When its proprietor Mrs Esther Briscoe died in 1855, there was no market for the building as a hotel, and it then became a school." Delicious homemade ice cream at reasonable prices. Grab one and sit on the benches opposite to enjoy whilst looking out over the River Dee.

You can rest on the bench provided almost on the edge of the escarpment and gaze out at the fantastic, panoramic views across the Dee to North Wales and up towards the mouth of the river. Burton Point is the site of an old hill fort dating back to the Iron Age - probably around the year 200 BC. Fascinating.

A well placed rest stop and watering hole that is popular with hikers, cyclists and families alike. Pub grub is also available and in the fine weather there are also outdoor seating areas with great panoramic views of the estuary.

Parkgate is a lovely place to visit. A short walk from Neston train station. If you travel by car there is ample parking in Neston and at the pubs at either end of the Parade. Public toilets are provided free of charge adjacent to the church. Parkgate remains extremely popular with hikers, cyclists and families but hasn't changed it's character simply to cash in on its visitors. It still has it's nice pubs, traditional ice cream emporiums, fish and chip shop and magnificent views. And although it is very busy, Parkgate still manages to retain that air of genteel peacefulness. I would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Back onto The Wirral County Park trail routes. The surfaces do have some muddy puddles, but the surface is more compact and quite easy to pick a decent dry line. Dog walkers, ramblers and social groups seem to use these tracks all the time, it is popular

There is a takeaway cafe area with seating inside another part of the building. This seems popular and will have it's regular customers. I only stopped for photos and did not see the menus
