A small Wood, but a little gem, very pretty , beautiful trails alongside Anston Brook, tunnels under the railway & bridges over the Brook. Ancient woodland around a gorge cut through the Limestone ridge during the last Glacial period. Lots of very old trees growing precariously out of the stone sides of the gorge

Small elusive rock cave in the escarpment, just below the path. You will find it from the Top path via the semi-circle track. Supposedly haunted, it's popular with ghosthunters in the night. The cave was excavated in the 1960's which revealed ancient flint tools from the ice age and animal bones from animals such reindeer and hyena 12,000 years ago - That's Ten Thousand Years BC!

after a lovely walk from Carlton in lindrick to Worksop . a few pints in this lovely pub goes down very well .

its on the edge of a shopping centre and only 25yards or so off the NCN route along the canal to Clumber Park.

Plenty of cycle parking right outside next to the outdoor sheltered tables & chairs. If you arent already a Costa rewards member its worth joing, 10 drinks and you get a 'free' one.
