Great lodge with a breathtaking view right on the edge of the cliff. Beautiful accommodation, delicious food, extensive program of hikes and cultural activities. The lodge and its owner also support the local population with extensive educational programs (for children and especially for young women). Highly recommended! Unfortunately we could only stay for three days...

Lodge with a breathtaking view right on the edge of the cliff. Great accommodation, delicious food, guided tours and a large-scale project that provides education and ecology to the local population on various levels. We were there for three days and found the time very enriching.

Great view at 1850m

Views in every direction. Good spot for a picnic (there's little huts and picnic benches). Can be cold.

I'm not sure exactly where we saw the blue monkey - if you are lucky you might see them anywhere in the forest, as well as colobus monkeys. They aren't easy to spot though!

Local ladies will show you the pottery making process and you can view their beautifully crafted wares, which they sell for a very reasonable price (5000 Tanzanian shillings each, in 2023). A gift to the ladies for showing you what they do is also appreciated.

Definitely get a guide for this walk - not only do they know their way around the forest, but they can also tell you about the trees, animals and local culture. Try Usambara Eco Tours. Waterfall is small but very pretty.
