Quiet lane

This is a charming seaside town that has a great beach and bustling promenade. There ar eplenty of independent shops, cafés and traditional pubs to explore as well as notable attractions including the North Norfolk Railway and Sheringham Park.

Sheringham Park is a stunning, landscaped garden located on the north Norfolk coast. There are a handful of connecting gravel paths that make the park a delight to explore.

The ruins show just how large this place was in its heyday. The small remaining part now forms a fairly large parish church.

Nice spot to stop for a snack and a rest but plenty to learn too, if you find time to read the information boards.

Binham Priory is a ruined Benedictine priory that was founded in the late 11th Century. The nave of the priory church has become the Church of St. Mary and is still in use today. It's an incredibly peaceful place to take a break in the North Norfolk Coast AONB.

A nice stop to view the steam trains. Sheringham’s original station was re-opened in 1975 as the main station of the North Norfolk Railway. The original level crossing was reinstated in March 2010, allowing access to the mainline once again. The first passenger train over the new crossing was steam locomotive ‘Oliver Cromwell’, hauling a train from London Liverpool Street. The station has been restored close to its 1955 appearance, when British Railways were responsible for the line. The distinctive blue totems and enamel platform signs are evocative of that period. The Old Luggage Office buffet is open from 9.30 – 4.30. Sheringham Station’s souvenir shop is located next to the footbridge. It is open from 11.00 – 4.30 on most days. Step free access to Platform 2 is available via the foot crossing. Trains to Weybourne and Holt will leave from either Platform 1 or 2 depending on the timetable in operation during your visit. Binham Priory is among the most complete and impressive monastic ruins in Norfolk. This Benedictine priory was founded in 1091 by Peter des Valoines, a nephew of William the Conqueror. Many of its priors were unscrupulous and the history of the priory is one of almost continuous scandal. The nave of the priory church, with its splendid 13th century west front and fine tiers of Norman arches, is now the parish church, and displays the former rood screen with medieval saints overpainted with Protestant texts.
