1月 27, 2026, Bärenhöhle Restaurant
The Bärenhöhle forest inn is idyllically situated in the Deister hills near Egestorf (Barsinghausen) and is a popular destination for hikers and day-trippers. Surrounded by ancient beech trees, it offers a cozy atmosphere with a rustic dining room, a conservatory, and a large beer garden nestled in the greenery. The kitchen combines regional and seasonal dishes – from game and asparagus specialties to the popular schnitzel day. Breakfast is served in the mornings, and on weekends a generous buffet featuring regional products and homemade jams is offered. Thanks to its proximity to the Egestorf S-Bahn station, the Bärenhöhle is easily accessible and perfect for a break after a hike. Whether for a family outing, a celebration, or a casual get-together – here, good food meets genuine Deister idyll.

9月 28, 2025, Maschsee North Shore
The shore is lined with trees, sculptures, and cafés that invite you to linger. The view over the lake is particularly impressive, with the waters reflecting picturesquely in the Maschteich pond when the water is calm ✨.

12月 29, 2024, Feuervogel Sculpture at Wöltjebuche
During a border inspection in 1930, at the instigation of the mayor of Springe and on the occasion of the 175th anniversary of the Wennigsen-Argestorf forestry cooperative, a mighty beech tree was given the name "Wöltjebuche" in honor of Carl Wöltje, who had been chairman of the Wennigsen-Argestorf forestry cooperative since 1912 (and held this office until 1948, i.e. for 36 years). In the 1970s, the beech tree was split by lightning and later badly damaged by arson. Today it no longer exists. However, the name "Wöltjebuche" remained on the relevant maps, indicated on the signposts and present in the minds of many hikers. As a replacement solution, a wooden plaque attached to a younger replacement beech tree at a height of around 10 m reminded people of its striking predecessor for many years. Since a border inspection in 2004, this prominent point has been marked by a monument (made by the Wennigsen master stonemason and stone sculptor Claas Baranowski), which stands next to a young copper beech, also donated by the Friedrich Wöltje family (Sorsum) and dedicated during the border inspection in 1999.

4月 2, 2024, Heimatmuseum Wennigsen (Obere Mühle)
The half-timbered house on the Mühlenbetriebsgraben with its mill wheel, which today houses the Wennigser local history museum, is one of the oldest houses in Wennigsen - built around 1700 as one of the town's original seven water mills. This “Upper Mill” was acquired by the community in 1974 and found its current purpose as a local museum in 1975. The local history museum is located on Mühlendammweg and is easy to reach on foot or by car - parking spaces in front of the house. 3月 30, 2024, View of Calenberger Land and Benther Berg
The Calenberger Land is a historical landscape that included Neustadt am Rübenberge, Hanover and Hameln. Today the name is mostly used as a regional name for the much smaller southwest of the Hanover region, where Calenberg Castle is located. It is separated to the east and north by the Leine and Mittelland Canal and bounded to the southwest by the Deister and to the south by the Kleiner Deister, both of which are largely still part of it. The Calenberger Land region community association does not consist of all of these communities. Source: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calenberger_Land
