Even though you had to ride downhill here on the Schwarzwald Super!, I would only do it as a climb. Riding at high speed on gravel/sand isn't fun on a road bike, especially since the path is very narrow.

A great climb from Hinterzarten – or a descent there. Challenging, with fantastic views every now and then. And at the top, you know: this is what the Black Forest smells like.

A beautiful, partly steep path via Kastel to Fröhnd, or from Fröhnd via Kastel to Mambach. Besides cows, there may also be tractors along the way, so drive carefully.
