St. Nicholas Church in Metzels I think the colorful fence slats with names on them are very beautiful 👍 an accent I really like 😊

The bridgehead towards Breitungen and the associated route were started between 1938 and 1940 as part of the Reichsautobahn 85 ( https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strecke_85 ) but were never completed and were only used much later for the B19.

The church fortress in Schwallungen actually dates back to the 8th century. However, the castle-like structure has only been partially preserved. The remaining remains, such as the bower, are worth seeing. Unfortunately, the church is closed and there is no historical information on site.
